Estudiantes del centro montijano han compartido  enseñanza, por ejemplo, con colegas húngaros e italianos y en este mismo  año van a continuar con viajes a Portugal y Holanda. Sin embargo, el  proyecto con estudiantes rusos es completamente novedoso. La elección de  Rusia como destino fue en realidad al revés.  &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div class="p" style="text-align: justify;"&gt;Fue el país eslavo el que, incentivado por la celebración  del año Dual España-Rusia en 2011 (concebido para reforzar las  relaciones económicas y culturales entre ambos países), se fijó en un  plan de enseñanza bilingüe que tuviera como autor un centro educativo  español. Y el de Montijo estaba en primera línea. &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div class="p" style="text-align: justify;"&gt;«Es la primera vez que un instituto extremeño realiza un  intercambio con uno ruso», subraya Sergio Piñero, tan feliz como  exhausto cuando se certificó la realidad del proyecto Alexander Pushkin.  «Lo hemos hecho todo desde el instituto y sin otra ayuda que la de la  agregada de Educación de la embajada de España en Rusia, Tatiana Drosdov  Díez. Solo el asunto de los visados nos ha quitado bastante tiempo»,  agrega el profesor del instituto montijano. &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div class="p" style="text-align: justify;"&gt;«Hemos tenido una colaboración extraordinaria desde San  Petersburgo. Los estudiantes rusos y sus familias se han implicado  muchísimo desde el inicio», aporta Pilar Alegría. Sin embargo, desde finales del año pasado la referencia a este poeta y autor teatral ruso del siglo XIX, escritor romántico que murió a los 37 años, hace que sus ojos se iluminen de expectación. Son Noemí, Marta, Juan, Pepe, Carlos, Ana, Manuel, Marta, Carmen, Beatriz, Agustín, Jaime, Fran, Laura y Nacho, alumnos de un instituto de Montijo.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;Pushkin es el nombre de un proyecto de enseñanza bilingüe que va a hacer que en abril quince estudiantes extremeños expongan sus trabajos en San Petersburgo, la segunda ciudad más habitada de Rusia, capital de los antiguos zares y Patrimonio de la Humanidad.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;Todos son alumnos de 3º y 4º de la ESO del instituto 'Extremadura', de Montijo, y tienen un viaje programado a San Petersburgo para la tercera semana de abril. Son los elegidos para participar en un intercambio cultural y educativo pionero en la comunidad autónoma. Por primera vez, un centro público extremeño participa en un proyecto educativo con Rusia como coprotagonista. La estancia en la antigua Leningrado, del 18 al 25 de abril, y la devolución de la visita de otros quince jóvenes rusos (doce chicas y tres chicos), que estarán en Extremadura en octubre, forman parte de una iniciativa que de forma práctica busca facilitar la enseñanza del español, del ruso y del inglés, así como desarrollar un plan de formación e intercambio de profesores, alumnos de entre 15 y 16 años y métodos pedagógicos.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;«El objetivo final es promover un intercambio cultural y educativo para mejorar la integración de educadores y jóvenes en un mundo diverso y multicultural», resumen los coordinadores del proyecto, los profesores Sergio Piñero y Pilar Alegría, de la sección bilingüe del instituto Extremadura. Desde hace meses, los alumnos del colegio lingüístico nº 43 de San Petersburgo se comunican con correos electrónicos en español y en algunos casos en inglés con sus compañeros de Montijo. Cuando estos vayan a la ciudad rusa, se quedarán en sus casas y sus anfitriones se encargarán de la manutención. Y cuando vengan a España, al revés.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;Cada estudiante del 'Extremadura' ha puesto de su bolsillo de 200 euros para pagarse el avión a San Petersburgo y no han recibido, hasta ahora, ninguna ayuda económica. Pero el proyecto consiste, desde luego, en mucho más que conocer estudiantes extranjeros, hacer amigos e intercambiar palabras en varios idiomas.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;Trabajos&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;Entre las actividades programadas están las denominadas Lecturas Cervantinas, dedicadas este año a Extremadura, organizadas por el centro ruso y el Instituto Cervantes de San Petersburgo. De ahí su nombre, no porque vayan a leer obras del ilustre escritor del Siglo de Oro. Se llevarán a cabo en salas reconocidas de la ciudad como el Museo Samoilov, las del Palacio de la Creatividad de la Juventud, el centro educativo estatal, la Facultad de Relaciones Internacionales o la Biblioteca de Historia.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;Las lecturas en español que realizarán los estudiantes extremeños son de trabajos relacionados con temática histórica y cultural de Rusia. La mayor parte de los escritos se centran en la figura de Alexander Pushkin, aunque tampoco se olvidan de los grandes clásicos literatos de ese país como Fiodor Dostoyevski y Anton Chejov. También se centran en pintores rusos como Repin, Vasnetsov, Korovin, Kustodiev, Benua, Surikov, Polenov o en el compositor Glinka.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;El cónsul español en San Petersburgo y los principales asesores científicos e hispanistas de la Universidad Estatal de San Petersburgo y miembros de la Casa Pushkin y del Museo del Hermitage han confirmado su presencia entre el auditorio que escuchará a los chicos del instituto Extremadura.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;Por su parte, los alumnos rusos expondrán trabajos que versarán sobre personalidades importantes de la historia y cultura extremeña, entre los que parece que no faltarán conquistadores y pintores.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;Noemí y Marta, que improvisan una breve conversación en ruso para evidenciar que están implicadas en el proyecto educativo, ya conocen a sus compañeros. Lo mismo que Pepe, que se intercambia habituales correos electrónicos con su amigo ruso. «Están ilusionadísimos por la experiencia que van a vivir. When the Celts lived in Ireland, Britain and France over 2,000 years ago, they had a pagan agricultural festival on this day. They believed that the dead came back, so they used to light large bonfires to ward off evil spirits. Irish, Scots and other immigrants brought this tradition to North America in the 19th century.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;The word "Halloween" is a shortened form of "All Hallows' Eve", meaning the evening before "All Hallows' Day" or "All Saints' Day", which is November 1st.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;In the past, poor people went around asking for food in exchange of a prayer for the dead. Nowadays, this tradition was changed. In Ireland and the United States, children dress up and go door-to-door collecting candy. This is called "trick or treat", meaning that if they don't receive candy they will make a trick or a spell.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;The carved pumpkin has become the symbol of Halloween. It's called "Jack-o-lantern", from an IrishJack-o-lantern legend about a man called Jack. He was a lazy farmer, who tricked the devil and refused to free him unless he agreed to never let Jack go into hell. So, Jack started to wander the Earth looking for a resting place, carrying a carved turnip with a candle inside.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div style="color: red;"&gt;&lt;b&gt;Study the following vocabulary related to Halloween and then take the quiz below.     &lt;/b&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;ul&gt;&lt;li&gt;         &lt;b&gt;Bobbing for apples&lt;/b&gt;                    Noun (game) - This is a traditional Halloween game. You put  apples in a barrel of water and people try to take the floating apples  out of the water using only their mouths.         &lt;br /&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;         &lt;b&gt;Cackling&lt;/b&gt;                    Adjective - An evil, wild, otherworldly laughing sound         &lt;br /&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;         &lt;b&gt;Carve&lt;/b&gt;                    Verb - (regular: carve - carved - carved) to cut with a knive,  in the context of a pumpkin to cut a face into the pumpkin.         &lt;br /&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;         &lt;b&gt;Evil&lt;/b&gt;                    Very bad behaviour with cruel intent.         &lt;br /&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;         &lt;b&gt;Haunted&lt;/b&gt;                    Location containing evil spirits or ghosts, usually a house or castle.         &lt;br /&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;         &lt;b&gt;Ghost&lt;/b&gt;                    Noun - the spirit of a dead person which appears again. Ghosts at Halloween are usually dressed in white sheets.         &lt;br /&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;         &lt;b&gt;Hideous&lt;/b&gt;                    Adjective - Something so ugly you cannot look at it.         &lt;br /&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;         &lt;b&gt;Horrified&lt;/b&gt;                    Adjective - very frightened, afraid or scared.         &lt;br /&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;         &lt;b&gt;Jack-o-lantern&lt;/b&gt;                    Noun - A carved pumpkin usually with a candle burning inside to illuminate the pumpkin.         &lt;br /&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;         &lt;b&gt;Pumpkin&lt;/b&gt;                    Noun - A large, orange vegetable in the squash family associated with Halloween.         &lt;br /&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;         &lt;b&gt;Skeleton&lt;/b&gt;                    Noun - The bone structre of a body without the flesh.         &lt;br /&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;         &lt;b&gt;"Trick or Treat"&lt;/b&gt;                    Saying - Used by children when going from house to house  asking for candy. El proyecto ha sido promocionado por la Agregaduría de Educación en Rusia y seleccionado por el Colegio nº43 de San Petersburgo (Rusia), con quienes realizaremos intercambios de alumnos cada año. The crust consists of ocean plates and continental plates. The crust is composed of light material called rock. The crust and the outer layer of the mantle together are called the lithosphere. The lithosphere is very brittle and light and moves because of convection currents in the lower layer of the mantle called the asthenosphere.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;b&gt;Oceanic Crus&lt;/b&gt;t -Made of dense basaltic rock. Oceanic plates carry the continental plates across the surface of the Earth.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;b&gt;Continental Crust&lt;/b&gt; -Made of light granitic rock. Continental crust rides on the oceanic crust.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;b&gt;Lithosphere&lt;/b&gt; - The crust and the upper rigid layer of the mantle seem to move together and form the plates of the Earth.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;b&gt;Mantle&lt;/b&gt; -Largest layer of the Earth located directly under the crust. The mantle is composed of very hot, dense, flowing rock. The material in the mantle flows because of convection currents.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;b&gt;Asthenosphere&lt;/b&gt; - Lower layer of the mantle. This is the layer that flows and moves the plates of the Earth. Flows very slowly with the consistency of hot asphalt under pressure.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;b&gt;Convection Currents&lt;/b&gt; - are a circular current caused by the difference in temperatures from the bottom to the top of the mantle. It is because of these currents that the plates of the Earth have moved in the past and are moving today. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;: It is the one which describes the Earth &lt;b&gt;spinning around   an imaginary axis&lt;/b&gt;, eastbound.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div class="separator" style="clear: both; between some  areas of the Earth.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;As the Earth is spherical  it is only  illuminated on the face   opposite to the sun. As it is turning on  itself, the lighted face  is not always the   same. Those 6 hours which are accumulated each  year, after 4 years, they are  24 (one day). Each four years there is  one that has 366 days, called   &lt;b&gt;leap year&lt;/b&gt;.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div dir="ltr" id="div2" style="text-align: justify;"&gt;The plane that determines the Earth's orbit is called   the &lt;b&gt;ecliptic circle&lt;/b&gt; and is the maximum that the Earth describes in its movement   around the Sun.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div dir="ltr" id="div2" style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div dir="ltr" id="div2" style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;b&gt;The Seasons:&lt;/b&gt; The translation  movement causes the &lt;b&gt;four seasons&lt;/b&gt;.The stations are determined by the &lt;b&gt;tilt of the earth's axis&lt;/b&gt; on the ecliptic. According to the position of the sun-earth   connection, some areas receive more solar radiation than others.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div dir="ltr" id="div2" style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div dir="ltr" id="div2" style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;b&gt;The Change of Seasons:&lt;/b&gt;&amp;nbsp; Seasons are &lt;b&gt;changing alternately&lt;/b&gt; by the   hemisphere  which is closer to the sun.
